King’s Sedgemoor Drain

Flooding around Muchelney

A wonderful satellite picture of the flooded Somerset Levels. At Langport there is Bow Bridge that is partially blocked causing the Muchelney floods - the river Parret is back in it’s bed below the bridge.
The King’s Sedgwick Drain was dug to drain the whole area but is now partially blocked at Dunball - especially by the concrete barrage at the outlet to the sea.
The whole story is on the web site www.floodsandgravel.co.uk/ Somerset.
